Schönebeck/Elbe

Past times are revived in this illustrated book with old views of the city of Schönebeck/Elbe. The authors, Britta Meldau and Petra Bosse from the Schönebeck city archive, selected images from its collections, focusing primarily on views that have hardly been published before. It was important to depict everyday life from back then in a sometimes light-hearted manner. Therefore, photos were chosen that show people in various situations whenever possible. If a characteristic building was also visible, it was almost the ideal case. Furthermore, private images were prioritized over postcards, resulting in a unique work. Thus, this illustrated book has ultimately become what it was meant to be from the very beginning: a love letter to the city of Schönebeck/Elbe. May this photo exhibition delight both locals and visitors.
