Product details
Summary:
The norms and values of the society we are born into are adopted without much thought. Others do the same! One of the essential skills for success in a globalized society is to know and respect each other's cultural codes.
Yang Liu was born in China and moved to Berlin at the age of 13, making her equally at home in the Eastern world as in the West. She observes closely and has the ability to break down complex relationships into pictogram form. This allows her to present a respectful comparison of European and Far Eastern characteristics without falling into clichés.
Philosophical depth seasoned with respect, humor, and love. This is the danger with pictogram books: they can reduce complex ideas to mere catchphrases instead of contributing to cross-cultural understanding. Yang Liu skillfully navigates this pitfall, which is the key to the sensational success of this title. Only someone who knows and loves both worlds can achieve this.
East Meets West helps you avoid misunderstandings, better understand 1.3 billion Chinese people, work with them, or win their hearts as a brand ambassador.
