In German hospitals, there is pressure: on one hand, performance, case numbers, case mix, and on the other hand, an increasing number of severely ill patients. But this doesn't have to be the case! At the University Hospital of Regensburg, interprofessionalism is a top priority. Working, researching, teaching, and managing – all of this happens in a team. There are joint meetings and rounds, training sessions, binding agreements, and above all: communication on equal terms!

The Regensburg model pursues three main goals:
1. Patient care at the highest level
2. High employee motivation and satisfaction
3. Good recruitment and retention of staff.
