Schlafende Hunde IX

This is presumably not only the most comprehensive anthology in the poetry series "Schlafende Hunde," created and curated by Thomas Bachmann, but also the most significant. It features 81 authors from the German-speaking world, most of whom have contributed pieces specifically written for this collection, providing a reflection of the current state of poetry in this country. In the GDR, there was the Schwerin Poet Seminar, the poetry series "Poesiealbum" published by Neues Leben, and the daily newspaper Junge Welt held a weekly "Poet Consultation" from 1967 to 1992. Without explicitly referring to these aspects, the Leipzig-based life artist Thomas Bachmann continues this tradition by regularly gathering poets under his banner. The current yield can be observed here. Circumstances have conspired to ensure that the issues of war and peace, climate and environment thread through nearly all the texts like a red thread.
