With the renaissance of rail transport, the special field of "rail vehicle dynamics" has gained in importance. The first book in the German-speaking world to focus on this area will meet with corresponding interest. Although it is based on the lecture "Rail Vehicle Dynamics" at the Technical University of Berlin and presupposes prior knowledge of mechanics, vibration theory and applied mathematics, it also appeals to the practitioner. The book covers vertical dynamics up to comfort considerations and lateral dynamics to such an extent that the reader is able to understand the stability of rail vehicles. Special attention is given to the processes in the wheel/rail contact. It contains the latest findings from research and railway practice. The authors go into detail on the special terminology of rail vehicle dynamics and related disciplines.
