Art education in transformation

Art mediation is undergoing a profound transformation: the professional field is expanding and changing the requirements for professionalism and field competence of the actors involved. At the same time, a discussion has emerged regarding the transformative potentials of art mediation and the changing effects on both the participants and the institutions where it takes place, in the wake of the "Educational Turn in Curating." "Art Mediation in Transformation" - arising from a research project of the art universities in Basel, Bern, Lucerne, and Zurich - presents transdisciplinary analytical methods and case studies. Model projects at five museums are described and analyzed from the perspective of two dozen writers from the professional field, research, and education. This multifaceted volume presents the results in the form of texts, images, and an artificial component.
