Antonie Schneider was born in 1954 in Mindelheim in the Allgäu region. After attending a convent school and studying, she initially worked as an elementary school teacher and then at a publishing house in Munich. Today, she lives with her family back in the Allgäu and writes stories for children.

On November 11th, the Saint Martin's play is performed in the town. Marina and her teddy bear participate with their beautiful lanterns, singing "I go with my lantern...". They witness how the good Saint Martin shares his cloak with the freezing poor man. Suddenly, a boy starts to cry. He has lost his lantern. The knight then looks meaningfully at the little bear, and so it happens that on this beautiful evening, the lanterns are also shared. Saint Martin's message has been received!.
