Swiss private law knows a whole range of credit safeguards. This volume brings together, in part in expanded form, papers presented at the 7th Conference on "Corporate Restructuring and Insolvency" held by the Europa Institute at the University of Zurich on June 23, 2015, on the topic of credit protection in insolvency. The most important means of security are dealt with: liens, rights of retention, assignment and blanket assignment, suretyship and promise of guarantee, bank guarantee, debt assumption and assumption of debt, reservation of title. The authors ask in which legal and economic situations the individual forms of collateral are particularly suitable - in distinction to other forms of collateral - what needs to be taken into account in the contractual drafting of collateral clauses, what happens to the collateral in the event of insolvency.
