In the forest, Lindiwe's sister Khanyi was last seen. This is why Lin is drawn back there time and again. Here, she hears Khanyi's voice but cannot figure out what has happened to her. Does her fate have something to do with the changes Lin is experiencing herself? With the moss that is sprouting on her cheek? Then Unathi enters her life. Her presence gives Lin roots and allows her to reach for the vastness of the sky. But they must not get too close, as Unathi is Lin's cousin. While Lin struggles against her feelings, the two try to uncover the mystery of Khanyi's disappearance. For "The Sun, So Radiant and Black," Chantal-Fleur Sandjon was awarded the German Youth Literature Prize in 2023. In her new book, she draws inspiration from African mythology.
