Product details

Over 50 high-quality paintings and graphics from the Jürgen and Maria Elisabeth Rasmus Foundation have been permanently loaned to the collection of the Museum Kunst der Westküste (MKdW). The works by Paul Baum, Tina Blau, Hans Peter Feddersen, Louis Gurlitt, Christian Morgenstern, Emil Nolde, Amelie Ruths, and many others complement and enrich the collection profile of the MKdW, which focuses on art created between 1830 and 1930 along the west coast of Norway, Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands on the theme of 'Sea & Coast.' How has the perspective on the west coast changed? What themes have become significant? In their paintings, the artists perceive geographical and climatic peculiarities and unfold a fascinating spectrum of themes: from the storm-lashed rocky coasts of Norway to the high skies of the North Frisian marshes, from biting cold and shimmering air, from distant lands to familiar regions. The catalog for the exhibition presents all artistic positions and relates them to one another.
