Sagen und Märchen von der Schwäbischen Alb

Once, the people of the Alb region told a wealth of stories about humans who could do more than just eat bread, about restless spirits, helpful earth spirits and dwarfs, household spirits and goblins, the Wild or the Brave, hidden treasures, dangerous hauntings, and even the devil. The setting for such eerie encounters can be spectacular buildings like castles and palaces, bizarre rock formations and caves, but also quite ordinary villages or hamlets from the Heidenheimer Alb to the Great Heuberg, from the Teck to Tuttlingen. Additionally, people used to entertain themselves with magical tales, legends, and novellas, local anecdotes or stories of the Schildbürger, as well as humorous tales, which have fortunately also been preserved in large numbers. From this rich treasure, at least a hundred legends and almost forty fairy tales have been included here.
