The Wendland, the Hanoverian Wendland, is located in the southeast of Lower Saxony and is about 70 km from Lüneburg. This region offers plenty of space for legends and stories, and the customs are still alive here. For many years, I have been working on the history of the Hanoverian Wendland and collecting the legends and folk customs that are now being published.

Undine Stiwich

Every region has orally transmitted tales that recount the past. They are meant to vividly explain special events or natural phenomena for future generations.
