One year, 2700 pages. Wolfram Lotz, considered one of the most important contemporary playwrights, wrote everything down for a year, from August 8, 2017, to August 9, 2018. Is that even possible? How does everything fit into one text? Originally, this growing, as real as it is impossible, daily record was not meant to be published. Nevertheless, here are now 800 pages, because Wolfram Lotz sent the text he had written up to that point via email to a friend in the spring of 2018, while still working on it. The longing and the sentences, everyday experiences, insights into the theater world, playing children, reflections on Peter Handke: all of this and more is part of this insane project, which opens itself to pure excess and shows what it truly means to write about the present.
