The Rottenburg Choral Book, with 55 choral settings for hymns of the main part and 118 choral settings for the common own part of the dioceses of Rottenburg-Stuttgart and Freiburg, offers choirs a rich fund for their service in the liturgy. The stylistic range includes cantorial movements, supra-choruses, movements with wandering cantus-firmus, choral motets, and even choral improvisations. Many movements were written especially for this publication. Where possible, the respective organ accompaniments are also printed. New chants and well-known melodies are included, which are offered in new choral settings. Numerous melodies of the own part are also used in other dioceses. Thus, the Rottenburg Choir Book of the Praise of God is a treasure trove for choirs to deal creatively with the prayer and hymn book and to promote the interaction between choir and congregational singing.
