Product details
In 2067, Rosewater, the city that owes its prosperity to the alien Wormwood, has severed ties with Nigeria. This decision is not well-received by the Nigerian government. On the contrary: the president is unwilling to let the thriving city go free without a fight.
Jack Jacques, the ambitious and charismatic mayor of Rosewater, had counted on Wormwood's support, as the alien's dome had protected the city from all external aggressors for years. But Wormwood is dying...
Meanwhile, a woman awakens in the suburbs of Rosewater, who no longer remembers that she is a wife and mother, yet feels distinctly that this body does not belong to her and that something much older, destructive, and foreign lies dormant within her.
This woman becomes the last hope for the city besieged by government troops. However, few people realize the high price they must pay for her salvation, as the invasion of the aliens, of which Wormwood was the vanguard, has already begun. Will S45 agent Femi, former agent Kaaro, and his partner Aminat be able to avert the threat?
Rosewater - The Uprising is the highly acclaimed sequel to the award-winning first installment of the trilogy and almost directly continues the story from the first book, Rosewater. While the first part was narrated solely from agent Kaaro's perspective, Thompson now allows us to experience the story through the eyes of various narrators. It is a skillfully woven and concise blend of science fiction, psychology, action, and mystery that you won't want to put down.
