Under a wonderfully fragrant Rosa alba in the garden of an abandoned house near Eutin, a skeleton is discovered. Soon, Chief Inspector Georg Angermüller and his colleagues learn that it is the remains of a young Turkish woman. She has been missing without a trace from Lübeck since a conflict with her family three years ago. Angermüller, who is looking after his friend Steffen's house, meets his friendly neighbor Derya Derin, who runs a catering service. When she becomes worried about her employee Gül, who hasn’t shown up for work in a few days, the inspector tries to reassure her. However, a heavy rain at the Neustädter Binnenwasser washes something to the surface, and Angermüller begins to take Derya's concern seriously...
