Yet it is well known that he had worked as an actor in Hollywood before his political rise. His work in the spotlight has left clear traces in his political life, but often goes unnoticed. I will therefore go into this in more detail below. Firstly, I think it is very important to find out how Ronald Reagan as a person grew up and what motivated him to become an actor. A great deal can be deduced from the course of a childhood and upbringing in adult life. The first chapter thus contributes to a basic understanding. The following two chapters describe the course of his life, and at the end I discuss Ronald Reagan the man.
