The weather extremes of recent years leave no doubt: climate change is here and having a noticeable impact. Increasingly frequent and prolonged periods of pronounced summer drought, along with storms, hail, and heavy rainfall. Plants have to endure quite a lot. Only those plants that are best adapted, meaning they are quite robust, will survive. But don’t worry, this doesn’t mean the end of aesthetic garden design.

Landscape architect Ina Timm combines aesthetics with plant intelligence in her new book and shows how beautiful and relaxing gardening can be, even in harsher conditions. She draws on adaptation strategies from the plant world for the design and care of gardens, ensuring that our gardens continue to bloom magnificently and are easy to maintain.
