This book addresses the interrelationship between the often crisis-ridden external reality and our inner lives. Problems that render us unable to act are too readily reduced to the level of individual psychology. How can we politicize such issues? "Psychoanalysis and Revolution" is aimed at individuals and groups who are fighting against an exploitative and alienating reality. The relationship between personal inner worlds and the societal outer world is highly relevant for liberation movements. The book neither uncritically accepts nor outright rejects psychoanalysis; rather, it makes its core concepts – the unconscious, repetition, drive, transference – politically applicable in order to change the world.
