The Guidelines for Riding and Driving, with their various volumes, are the standard reference for fundamental knowledge about horses and the disciplines of riding, driving, and vaulting. For international use, they have been partially translated into English. Volume 4 of the Guidelines contains the "tools" for proper interaction with and care of horses. It provides knowledge about horse behavior, their proper care and feeding, as well as appropriate grooming and hygiene measures. Additionally, this volume covers the basics of horse anatomy and physiology, as well as the most common equine diseases. The chapter on "Horse Breeding" includes tips and information for both theory and practice. Volume 4 of the Guidelines serves as preparation for riding badge and training examinations according to the current APO.
