Product details
Based on extensive archival material, Viennese historian and political scientist Michael Thöndl examines the relationship between Richard Nikolaus Count Coudenhove-Kalergi's "Pan-European Union" and Italian Fascism. The president of the "Pan-European Union" oscillated between democracy and dictatorship. Between 1933 and 1936, he placed great hopes in Mussolini. During this phase, he preferred a "fascist Pan-Europe," from which he distanced himself again after Mussolini's rapprochement with Hitler. The book also contributes to the study of the idea of Europe in fascist Italy.
