At the same time, the uncertainties of the past two years have shown that free international trade between nations and continents is a fragile asset. Supply chains have been disrupted, and the availability of energy and raw materials is limited. Creative makeshift solutions, along with analog and digital elements that engage all our senses, are providing new impulses for urban commerce. On the path to the retail metaverse, high-touch meets high-tech. Dr. Jon Messedat teaches the module on Construction and Space at HAWK Hildesheim, focusing on corporate interiors. After studying architecture and industrial design, he earned his doctorate at the Bauhaus University Weimar on corporate architecture. In 2018, he was appointed by the Architects' Chamber of Lower Saxony as a member of the jury for the State Prize for Architecture.
