The concept of resilience has made its way into various fields of action. These include medicine, psychology, education, theology, and philosophy, as well as engineering, environmental sciences, politics, and security studies. Consequently, the term resilience is used in a multifaceted manner. However, it always revolves around identifying and conceptualizing resistance potentials in the face of crises or threat scenarios. This volume addresses different scientific approaches to dealing with crisis experiences and reflects on selected aspects and perspectives of and on resilience. Thus, it deepens the discourse on resilience and critically and constructively develops a practice-oriented concept of resilience that elucidates its practical significance.
