Celle has a wealth of history and a few surprises in store: Here you can find the smallest university in Germany, a listed toilet, and roulade, just like Bud Spencer (allegedly) loved it, raw! Almost 500 half-timbered houses shape the city center of Celle – who doesn't find that romantic? In Celle Castle, you can gaze at the long-faded Welfen dukes in their kitchen and bedroom. On an excursion to the Lüneburg Heath, you'll encounter lively, fluffy Heidschnucken sheep. At the end of the day, when you look down from the bell tower of the town church at the half-timbered ensembles and the Welfen Castle at your feet, one thought remains: "Oh, you wonderful Celle!".
