Reise zwischen Nacht und Morgen

Hope in the Face of Transience. An old circus travels from Germany to the Orient, an old man journeys into his past, and we, the readers, become witnesses to a fairy-tale-like rejuvenation process. We see two men who, in their old age, become like children again and realize what they lost on their way to adulthood. And we hear, as it could only be with Rafik Schami, stories about stories. What binds them together, however, is a novel about a grand theme: hope in the face of transience.
