The state on the Indochinese Peninsula not only offers unspoiled coastlines on the Gulf of Thailand. The plain of the Cambodian basin with Lake Tonle-Sap covers most of the country, rising to the Dangrek Mountains in the north and the Cardamom Mountains in the west. Evidence of the Khmer culture can be found everywhere, such as the royal palace in Phnom Penh. In the northeast of the country Angor Wat, the largest sacred building in the world, is the most important destination. More than 200 pictures show Cambodia in all its facets, four specials report, among other things, about the Khmer temples and the eventful history of the country.
