Endless fields of tulips, old windmills, and idyllic villages, along with wide beaches and landscapes by the North Sea, showcase the diversity of the Netherlands. The Zuiderzee was also separated from the open sea by a gigantic dam, creating the Ijsselmeer, an inland sea that is now a territory for recreational sailors rather than fishermen.
