Basic liturgical information

The subject of liturgics is part of church music education. It provides knowledge and criteria for action in the field of worship. From course materials spanning several decades, a concise foundational information has been developed, which takes into account not only the Reformed liturgy but also the Roman Catholic and Lutheran liturgies. The various types of liturgy are presented according to their origins, elements, and development. In a second round, they are discussed from the perspective of their musical design. Between these sections are chapters on worship times and spaces. The scope corresponds roughly to the material covered in a two-semester introductory course on liturgics.
