Regionen in Nordrhein Westfalen 01. Das Sauerland und Südwestfalen

The series "Regions in North Rhine-Westphalia" aims to give an impression of the diversity of the state. In eight volumes, the various cultural landscapes are presented in words and pictures. A general introduction is followed by a description of the individual towns and communities - their geographical location, history, sights, cultural offerings, economic structure, customs and outstanding personalities. Numerous contact addresses are intended to encourage readers to get to know the regions better. The contributions are rounded off by the respective town or municipality coat of arms and many color photos. The series opens with a description of Sauerland, Siegerland and Wittgensteiner Land. Due to their topography, these landscapes were for a long time located away from the main traffic flows, and the economic development was correspondingly low - especially after the exhaustion of the ore deposits.
