You have booked a hiking holiday, traveling from Berlin, the Münsterland, Bavaria, and Lower Saxony, and you meet for the first time at the hotel. The hikes take you through the breathtakingly beautiful nature of the island, featuring pine and laurel forests, an exciting volcanic landscape, and the imposing caldera, a massive basin filled with rivers and forests. However, this hiking paradise harbors dangers: steep gorges, abysses, sudden weather changes, and banks of fog. People have gone missing in the caldera time and again. The hiking guide moves far too quickly. A group of randomly assembled individuals: solo travelers, couples, a pair of women, and the hiking guide. Their problems travel with them; the couples argue, a single woman remains lonely, and professional issues cannot be ignored. The mood within the group worsens day by day. They are all connected by one common fear, though they are unaware of it: the fear of job loss and social decline. Underlying hostilities arise. Nature also reveals its dangerous side. Yet the real danger does not lurk in nature.
