Reformen auf dem Prüfstand

Prince Leopold III. Friedrich Franz of Anhalt-Dessau (1740-1817) is predominantly understood as an enlightened absolutist ruler. His reforms in the areas of administration, economy, landscape development, social and medical services, education, as well as his tolerance towards religious minorities are considered exemplary and progressive in many parts of research. The Dessau-Wörlitz Commission dedicated a conference to this topic in 2022 under the title "Reforms Under Scrutiny." Various studies that have examined the prince's reform efforts in recent years were discussed. Additionally, the implementation of the reforms and their effects on the subjects were also considered. Contributions were made by Paul Beckus, Christian Eger, Andreas Erb, Natalie Gutgesell, Franziska Haar, Frank Kreissler, Andreas Pecar, Michael Rocher, Wolfgang Savelsberg, Antje Schloms, and Fabian Schubert.
