Reflexe eines Umwelt- und Klimabewusstseins in fiktionalen Texten der Romania

With the reconstruction of the ecological discourse in the Romance literatures from the 18th to the 21st century, the volume makes an innovative contribution to research. The studies reflect the epoch-specific development of environmental awareness and its transformation, incorporating eco-critical reflections already present in antiquity, the Middle Ages, and the early modern period. They also demonstrate that since the 1950s, a modern environmental consciousness has emerged in literature. Since the 1970s, this has evolved into a multi-voiced critical discourse that is maturing into an environmental ethics. The poetization of ecology requires an adequate rhetoric that can condense into a specific meteorological writing, which is closely related to natural or environmental phenomena.
