Frankenstein oder Der moderne Prometheus

With Frankenstein, Mary Shelley created a mythical figure in 1818 that gained immense popularity throughout the 20th century through various loose film adaptations. While the name now represents all kinds of monsters, Shelley tells the fantastical story of Victor Frankenstein, who creates an artificial being at the University of Ingolstadt that he cannot control. The monster longs for love and companionship but brings death to all who come too close to it.
