The accounting of associations and other nonprofit organizations (NPOs) must be viewed as an information system that ensures the planning of NPO activities, their management over time, and the representation of achievements, as far as they can be quantified, to all interested parties in the nonprofit organization. The foundation of the book is an integrated accounting concept of funding accounting, balance sheets, and income statements, developed in accordance with the Freiburg Management Model for nonprofit organizations. The book is aimed at executives and their employees who are part of an association or organization in the fields of business, employee representation, social welfare, churches, sports, leisure, culture, or any other membership-structured organization.
