How unfair! Lilu is the only ladybug without spots. She just wants to hide because every ladybug is supposed to have spots, right? Then Lilu meets the dung beetle, who is happy even though he looks quite boring at first glance. Will Lilu find a way to see her uniqueness positively and love herself just as she is?

Lilu is sad. All the other ladybugs have spots, but her shell is just a plain red. Is she even a real ladybug without any spots? She feels ashamed because she wants to be like everyone else. Then she meets the dung beetle and is amazed that he is happy and content with his life, even though his shell is just dull black. When the dung beetle shows her how his supposedly boring shell shimmers in all the colors of the rainbow in the sunlight, Lilu realizes: It doesn’t matter to be like everyone else. She can be valuable in her own way. What a joy it is to be special!.
