Hannelore Dierks was born in 1940 and grew up in Marburg/Lahn. She has written stories and plays for children during her pedagogical activities in pre-school, day-care centres, child and youth psychiatry, institutions for life support and in children's homes in Germany and South Africa. Through her stories, the author wants to go on happy fantasy journeys with children, whereby small things can become big, big things small, and quiet voices of children loud. Hannelore Dierks has five children of her own and is a freelance author. She writes for children and adults. Some of her books have been translated into various languages.
