"I must succeed in my career!" "I must be popular!" Often, we torment ourselves with absolute demands and feel worthless when we fail to meet them. Constant frustration, shame, and anger can be the result. Albert Ellis became famous for analyzing such irrational beliefs, also known as "musturbations."
