With the new edition of "The Margins of Philosophy," one of Jacques Derrida's foundational works is finally available again. In addition to two important texts on Heidegger, this volume includes key texts on différance, one of Derrida's most significant concepts. It features not only the introduction to Hegel's semiology but also three additional texts on linguistics and the relationship between linguistics and philosophy, as well as "White Mythology" – a paper on metaphor in philosophical texts – and Derrida's lecture on Paul Valéry. Particularly in light of the resurgence of authoritarian structures and autocratic systems worldwide, Derrida's philosophy of deconstruction, which draws lessons from the experiences with the dictatorships of the 20th century, can once again provide important critical impulses to resolutely counter totalitarian ideologies and political forms.
