Radioaktive Altlasten

The new radiation protection law in Germany is extensive and complex. To provide practitioners with a clearer overview of the requirements that concern them, this brochure compiles the regulations related to the topic of 'Radioactive Contaminated Sites.' Based on Directive 2013/59/Euratom, the relevant sections of the Radiation Protection Act and the Radiation Protection Ordinance are listed.

The perspectives of the legislator presented in the accompanying justifications of the Radiation Protection Act and the Radiation Protection Ordinance highlight important interconnections and offer insights for a better understanding of the regulatory framework. Explanations that are closely related to the respective legal texts but clearly separated from the main text provide additional guidance and outline parts of the regulatory framework that are not included in this brochure with keywords. A 'Technical Appendix' at the end of the brochure includes some information that can assist in identifying and examining suspected cases.
