Radebeul

Forty years is a short time in world history, but for a person, it is more than half a lifetime. The author allows readers to revisit the GDR era in Radebeul. He presents the residents of the large district town on the outskirts of Dresden with over 200 images, mostly from the city archive, reflecting on that time. Some may recognize themselves, friends, relatives, neighbors, or colleagues. The author, who has lived in Radebeul since 1954, largely refrains from comments in the captions, leaving the interpretation of events to the viewer. As they flip through the pages, readers will find many things that make them smile, think, and remember. They have the opportunity to rediscover and perhaps remember forgotten aspects of a closed chapter in history that only ended twelve years ago.
