The Color Atlas of Strasbourg/Knolle was the first monograph of its kind in the German-speaking world on oral mucosal diseases from the perspective of dental, oral, and maxillofacial medicine. It is rightly considered a standard work and has been translated into numerous languages. The extensive experience of both authors, who are well-known to their colleagues through their long-standing work in scientific institutions and in continuing education committees, is reflected in the clarity of the material organization, the coherence of the presentation, the focus on the essentials, and the successful synthesis of text and image.
