The focus of this book is on the detailed and clear presentation of typical problems in quantum mechanics and their solutions, which students can follow step by step. As tutors, the authors have gained extensive experience in understanding the difficulties and obstacles that students encounter. They present complex concepts in an understandable way, discuss calculation steps that are often considered trivial, and highlight common pitfalls.
Each chapter of the book begins with an overview of the key concepts and formulas related to the topic. The selection of problems is aligned with the usual themes and issues encountered in an undergraduate quantum mechanics course: the mathematical foundations and formalism, the Schrödinger equation, angular momentum, potential problems in one dimension, and the hydrogen atom.
The problems and their solutions are framed with introductory remarks, allowing students to easily grasp why a particular problem is being considered. Numerous tip boxes draw attention to common mistakes or provide additional information that aids understanding.
This student-friendly presentation is suitable for anyone looking for thoroughly discussed problems related to quantum mechanics lectures, as well as those who want to delve into the connections within quantum mechanics.
