Special education and early intervention make a significant contribution to the implementation of inclusive education. It is particularly important to identify developmental risks early in preschool age. Studies show that educators who care for and support developmentally at-risk children are exposed to increased levels of stress. This book addresses the constantly rising demands in the field of educators, highlights the importance of early pedagogical intervention for children's personality development, and presents the results of a survey of staff from Berlin daycare centers regarding their experiences of stress. Additionally, numerous questions are answered: What conditions do educators need to effectively support children with disabilities? What resources are necessary to create adequate conditions? How do special education training, supplementary, and continuing education offerings affect stress levels? Furthermore, concrete action proposals are presented to relieve and support educators who strive for the integration and inclusion of children with special needs.
