Since no representation of humanity fully captures its complexity, it should not be surprising that religions and philosophical systems hold different views on its structural makeup. All are true: it merely depends on the perspective from which humanity is observed. If one wants to convey an understanding of human anatomy, one creates visual aids for the various systems: bones, muscles, circulation, nerves. The same applies to the psychological organism: like an anatomist, the initiate uses different diagrams or divisions, depending on the aspects of humanity and the issues they wish to explore.
