Product details
Testing is not the same as testing. What the DIN VDE 0100-600 is for installers of electrical systems, the DIN VDE 0105-100 is for operators. However, a comprehensive and broad knowledge of testing electrical systems is also required beyond this.
While Volume 2 of this title deals with the execution of initial and periodic testing of electrical systems, this Volume 1 provides testers, experts, assessors, planners, and operators with an overview of the planning fundamentals of electrical systems as well as the requirements for testing personnel. Additionally, the legal foundations from EnWG, ProdSG, and ArbSchG are addressed.
Another aspect is the handling of tests for low-voltage switchgear combinations and their classification under the Low Voltage and Machinery Directives.
Topics include, among others:
- Types of rooms and installation locations,
- Dangers of electric current,
- Protection types of operating resources,
- Qualifications of personnel,
- The legal pyramid (European law, technical regulations, and state of the art),
- Standards and VDE regulations,
- Risk assessment,
- Distinction between machines and systems,
- Protection of existing rights and adaptation,
- The Operational Safety Regulation and accident prevention regulations,
- The series DIN VDE-0100,
- Protection against electric shock, thermal influences, and overcurrent.
