Protection des données personnelles et recherche

This book is published following the CEDIDAC conference on 17 March 2023, organized by Prof. Sylvain Métille, and is dedicated to the protection of personal data in the context of research. It is primarily addressed to any legal professional participating in or involved in a research project involving personal data.

It contains seven original contributions that deal with the legal framework for the protection of personal data in research in general and the rights of the persons concerned. It also discusses the role of research commissions, the role of research ethics committees, statistical processing, the right to non-discrimination, the valorization of research data, and the European Data Strategy. The highly controversial issue of the notion of anonymous data has been widely discussed by the authors, as has the question of the privacy of research.
