Every teacher in elementary and special education immediately thinks of certain children who repeatedly confuse numbers, mispronounce them, or write them incorrectly. And which educator doesn't know children who can only grasp quantities and solve math problems through laborious counting strategies using their fingers? This volume offers a variety of support for these children: opportunities for competence-oriented diagnostics of fundamental skills such as reading and writing numbers or determining quantities. Additionally, there are test tasks for verifying basic operations. Learning and practice opportunities for fundamental orientations in the hundreds range using various materials and visual aids; suggestions for introductory and advanced exercises in addition and subtraction, as well as application-oriented activities, particularly in the area of money. The presented learning and practice opportunities motivate without overwhelming and allow for differentiation in many areas. Both the diagnostic tasks and the practice offerings are illustrated with concrete experiences and student documents.
