Abstract: The aim of this seminar paper is to convey an understanding of the fundamentals of Process Mining and to present and critically evaluate its implementation using a practical example from the company Siemens. Chapter 1 of this seminar paper serves as an introduction to the topic. In addition to the objectives, the structure of the work and the scientific approach are also discussed. Chapter 2 explains the fundamentals of Process Mining. First, the term is defined, and it is explained in detail how Process Mining works, what types are distinguished, and which methods and techniques are used in Process Mining. This knowledge is necessary for understanding the subsequent sections. Chapter 3 addresses the central question of this seminar paper and examines whether the company Siemens has created a business case with its implementation of Process Mining in practice to increase the level of digitalization of Order2Cash processes, which other companies planning similar projects can refer to. Chapter 4 summarizes the results of this work. Finally, a conclusion follows.
