Product details
Pride and Prejudice - this is what everyone struggles with in Jane Austen's most popular novel. A wildly swirling marriage carousel revolves around aristocratic and bourgeois pretensions, ultimately coming to a standstill with a happy ending. Wit and irony characterize the dialogues of this book, first published in 1813.
Author's Note
Jane Austen (1775-1817) is regarded as the great lady of English literature, being the first to shape the comedy of the everyday. On the surface, she led an uneventful life in her parents' parsonage. However, her novels – alongside Mansfield Park (1814), particularly Sense and Sensibility (1811), Pride and Prejudice (1813), and Emma (1816) – enjoy a readership in the millions worldwide today. Almost all have been successfully adapted into films multiple times.
