Why this fuss about words and sentences? Lightning can rise from speech. And what does this lightning do? It lets us see what would otherwise have remained in the shadows around the words.
But, you will continue to ask ... Why words, speaking, city? Speaking creates spaces. Even very real, urban ones. Words are highly volatile things that leap from language into urban reality - into any reality. Because words, like amoebas, incorporate or expel particles, remodel realities, in exceptional cases even revolutionise them.
How do ideas of the city come into being? Of social reality? Of truth? Or lies? Who prefabricates them? Constructs? Manipulates? How one screws with reality when speaking and listening? Why no sentence can be uttered that does not directly influence the way we see reality at the moment? Why even that constructs reality which is not being spoken about at the moment?
